The Research Institute for Chromatography (R.I.C.) was founded in 1986 by Prof. Dr. Pat Sandra and has been involved in the development and promotion of chromatographic and mass spectrometric knowledge and know-how from the very start.

R.I.C. offers analytical services and turn-key solutions to the industry and to private and governmental laboratories. In collaboration with the customers, new methods are developed, evaluated and ric 002.JPGvalidated. Very often, the final step of this method development work is the transfer of instrumentation, knowledge and know-how to the customer's laboratory.

Ever since its foundation, the research activities and the method development projects have been situated in a broad range of application areas, such as such as (bio)chemistry, biotechnology, petro-chemistry, clinical chemistry, food, flavors and natural products, polymer sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, toxicology, environmental chemistry and life sciences. Parallel with these services, R.I.C. is offering total analytical solutions and is involved in instrumental innovations as such and in collaboration with manufacturers.

From this unique position in-between chromatography users and instrument manufacturers, the R.I.C. has experienced a still growing need for dedicated training in chromatography, electrophoresis and mass spectrometry. R.I.C. is therefore running a training program in order to guide users through the recent developments in modern separation sciences.
