MagnaBioSciences, LLC (MBS) is a privately held company founded in 2000 and headquartered in San Diego, California. MBS is the proprietor of Magnetic Immuno-Chromatographic Test® (MICT) technology. This technology merges the physics of magnetics with nano biotechnology to provide assays of broad applications in numerous areas. MBS developed the MICT system to provide for rapid and accurate immunoassays of a variety of biochemical and environmental samples, based on the well-known lateral flow format. However, with MICT, magnetic nanoparticles replace the commonly used gold or latex particles incorporated in such visually read tests. MICT tests are read magnetically, offering the advantages of a quantitative result and greatly improved sensitivity.
