Kaivogen Oy is a producer of high quality laboratory reagents designed to meet the demanding needs of your assay.

We offer streptavidin-coated microtitration plates with a range of properties in several 96-well formats giving you the option to select the best alternative for your application. In addition to streptavidin plates, Kaivogen also offers anti-mouse IgG coated plates as a catalogue item. If your assay demands a special surface for optimal performance, Kaivogen runs a custom coating service to fulfil your needs.

For detection of biomolecules we provide several lanthanide chelates with different metal ions, activation chemistries and fluorescence properties. If you are interested in having your biomolecule ready-coupled with a label, our company also provides a labelling service for small molecules requiring HPLC-purification.

Kaivogen also offers controlled production facilities for preparation of buffers and other laboratory liquids.

The KaiSA and UniverSA product families from Kaivogen Oy are certified according to the Quality Management System standard ISO 9001:2008 by DNV.

Kaivogen streptavidin coated plates are suitable for a wide range of applications, like immuno or nucleic acid hybridization assays. The plates are available in several different 96-well formats: 12 & 8 well strips, solid plates or breakable strips enabling use of different instrumentation and assay configurations. Also other plate formats are available on request. All the plates have high affinity towards biotin and are stable over a wide range of pH, detergent concentration and ionic strength. The available plate families differ regarding binding capacity, background, streptavidin leaching and cost.
Anti-mouse coated plates are coated with polyclonal rabbit anti-mouse IgG antibodies. Currently the plates are available in 12-strip format, but other plate formats are available on request.

For labelling of biomolecules, Kaivogen offers several different lanthanide chelates. Some of the lanthanides, especially europium, terbium and samarium, are known for their long life-time fluorescence, which enables measurements based on time-resolved fluorometry (TRF). Due to the long fluorescence life-time, the TRF-based assays typically improve assay sensitivity and reduce background signal caused, for example, by the sample matrix or the plastic surface of the plate. The lanthanide chelates are widely used in various types of bioaffinity assay from trisomy testing to screening of new drug candidates.
Kaivogen provides two different families of lanthanide chelates. The Kajo chelates are optimal for high sensitivity applications and demand a separate intensification step at the end of the assay. The Loisto chelates are intrinsically fluorescent. They can be used as donor labels in time-resolved fluorescence resonance energy-transfer (TR-FRET) assays, or assays involving direct surface measurement. Kaivogen chelates provide you with cost efficient options for immuno-, TR-FRET- and nucleic acid hybridization assays. All chelates are delivered with a certificate of analysis.
