The company's product portfolio includes specialized products for the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, as well as the clinical and diagnostic sector. HiMedia offers various types of media, peptones, and laboratory aids, including animal-derived and non-animal derived options, such as HiVeg and chemically defined media like HiCynth. The company also provides products for sample collection, such as Salivol for saliva samples and HiGargle for gargle samples, which are used for diagnostic purposes, including COVID-19 detection. HiMedia operates a European central warehouse in Germany, from which it supplies its products to distributors across Europe, and is certified according to various international standards, including ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016.

HiMedia Laboratories GmbH – or HME for short – is a 100% subsidiary of the Indian company HiMedia Laboratories Pvt. Ltd.. The latter has been active in the field of microbiology for over 45 years and is one of the three global market leaders in this area for several years now.

Being among the leaders in a field does not mean that everyone knows your product range. And even globalization and technical progress are not enough to completely eliminate all problems in trade between different countries. To alleviate some of these challenges and help HiMedia’s European distributors move forward, the subsidiary HiMedia Laboratories GmbH was founded in 2017. HME is located in Einhausen (Germany), right next to the A5 highway and very close to Frankfurt (a. M.) Airport.
