BCP Partnering Portal / H&D srl
H&D is dedicated to the research, developing new tests and instruments in the area of oxidative stress measurement.
It has created: – the SAT test, the first test in the world for measuring the antioxidant potential in saliva (patented); – the MiniSat, the instrument that makes the SAT test easy, economical and accurate; – the d-ROMs fast test, for measuring oxidative stress, with a reading time of 2 minutes and 30 seconds instead of 5 minutes of d-ROMs (patented); – the PAT test, a new test derived from the BAP test with a processing time that has been reduced from 5 minutes for the BAP test to 1 minute, and has the huge innovative benefit of being able to eliminate phosphate interference (patented); – and OB Manager online, the oxidative stress management software programme.
These innovations have put the H&D oxidative stress measurement systems at the forefont in research and in clinics management, with top-rate technical characteristics which place H&D a world leaders in the field of oxidative stress measurement.
INSTRUMENTS
FRAS 5
FRAS 5 is the most advanced system for measuring oxidative stress. FRAS 5 uses plasma or serum instead of whole blood, and therefore, it is not influenced by the hematocrit that causes altered and thus inaccurate values. You need only one blood withdrawal to perform the two tests d-ROMs fast and PAT.
FRAS 4
FRAS 4 Evolvo is a dedicated photometer with a built-in centrifuge that lets the operator perform the d-ROMs, PAT and SAT tests in a simple manner while being guided with operating messages that appear on the display.
MiniSat
The MiniSat system comprise a MiniSat photometer and the SAT Test. The MiniSat photometer is easy to use and the SAT test provides the values on the antioxidant capacity of the saliva.
TESTS
d-ROMs test
The d-ROMs test is a photometric test that is done in analytical laboratories using an analytical instrument called a photometer. For outpatient and routine visits, it is proposed in conjunction with the FRAS system, which, besides having an optical reader, also has a centrifuge built into the instrument for the separation of the liquid part from the blood cells.
PAT test
The PAT test provides a quantitative assessment of the total antioxidant capacity of plasma, measured as the potential to reduce ferric ions. The “antioxidant power” is provided by various substances, some of which act as scavengers, neutralizing free radicals by directly interacting with them.
SAT test
The SAT (Saliva Antioxidant test) is an innovative test that uses a specific method for determining the amount of antioxidants (AOs). In aerobic organisms the production of RS and particularly ROS, as fully explained, is controlled by the network of antioxidants (RAO). The AOs can be both exogenous and endogenous and mainly work to counterbalance the production of ROS (particularly hydroperoxides).
SOFTWARE
OB Manager online
OB MANAGER is an original software that has the specific purpose of helping healthcare professionals manage oxidative stress in clinical practice. The term oxidative stress refers to a pathological condition characterized by an imbalance between the production (increased) and elimination (decreased) of reactive chemical species that have an oxidizing action, commonly referred to as “free radicals.”
